Mathieu Jaminet: “My luck in 2019”

The end of season evening Porsche Motorsport has given confirmation of the German firm's programs for 2019. One of the main new features concerns the Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet, whose 2019 program will open up greatly internationally.

After a 2018 campaign marked by the ADAC GT Masters champion title with the Herberth Motorsport 911 GT3 R, the former Porsche Carrera Cup France champion will compete in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT Challenge, but above all the 24 Hours of Le Mans on one of the four official 911 RSRs.

A first achievement for the Lorraine, who was not selected for the double round of the clock in Sarthe this year, where Weissach won. “I asked at the end of 2017 to move to an RSR in WEC or ELMS, Jaminet confided to us.

There was room, but Porsche had other plans for me, notably the ADAC GT Masters and the rest proved them right. But when I learned that I wouldn't be there (at Le Mans), I was of course disappointed. But my performances this year allowed me to be offered my chance in 2019.”

Jaminet will compete at Le Mans with Sven Müller and Dennis Olsen, and will also participate in the four endurance races in IMSA (Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans) with Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor.
