Bad settings at fault at Toyota

With five and seven seconds behind the pole of the #7 Audi of Fässler-Lotterer, the Toyota TS050 Hybrid were transparent during qualifying for the 6 Hours of Silverstone held on a wet track. The new Japanese LMP1s did not have the settings adapted to the difficult conditions on the British track according to the team's press release.

“The day was complicated with the weather and that put us in difficulty with the settings of our car which are very complex”, explained Anthony Davidson who qualified the No. 5 in sixth place with Kazuki Nakajima, after seeing the snow disrupt the third practice session this morning.

“The team made progress for my stint but the car wasn’t perfect. We need to analyze the data to see what is wrong. We need to see how much progress we need to make. The car seemed good for the service and I hope the situation will be different tomorrow since we should run in the dry.", added the Japanese pilot.

The same problem occurred on the No. 6 which will start from fifth position behind the Audi R18s and the Porsche 919 Hybrid.

“We made mistakes in our control systems and we did not enjoy the usual performance”, added Stéphane Sarrazin. “We still have to learn with this car and these things can happen. This is the first time we have driven the TS050 Hybrid in these conditions and we need to understand what happened to improve next time. »
