Mécachrome satisfied with the first ride of the Ginetta G60-LT-P1

Among the new arrivals in the 2018-2019 Super-Season of the World ChampionshipEndurance WEC, you will have to count on the Ginetta G60-LT-P1. Presented at the Birmingham show a few days ago, the British LM P1 had achieved in the wake a burn-in in Leeds, England.

Straight-line runs on the British airport runway which notably allowed engine manufacturer Mecachrome to check the behavior of its 6-liter V3,4 turbo engine within the Ginetta chassis.

“We have very good relations with Ginetta and the engine installation went very well, analyzes Bruno Engelric, director of Mecachrome Motorsport. It is all the more remarkable that our two companies are discovering Endurance and LM P1 without ever having worked together before.

We still have some adjustments to be made to the location of the connector boxes. On GP3 Series engines and F2, they are installed under the plenums on the Ginetta, we need to place them higher so that they are easily accessible. We had already anticipated this modification and it will be effective from the tests planned for next month.

We also planned to slightly modify the position of the alternator because he risks being too exposed to shocks when the car passes over the vibrators. We have already planned a solution and it will be implemented at the end of February. »

New testing sessions are planned in the coming weeks before the first round of the WEC scheduled for May 5 at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Manor Racing will notably field a copy of the Ginetta LM P1.
