Michelin extends its commitment to Hypercar until 2029

Michelin and the World ChampionshipEndurance, it's a story that lasts. The French manufacturer supplies its products to WEC since its creation in 2012 and will continue the adventure by equipping all manufacturers in the Hypercar category until at least 2029.

“We are delighted to confirm the extension of Michelin’s partnership as the exclusive tyre supplier for the FIA WEC Hypercar category, says Frédéric Lequien, CEO of the Endurance World Championship. Such long-term agreements are essential to lay the foundations for growth and demonstrate the confidence that all competing manufacturers have in the brand's products."

“The calibre of Michelin tyres speaks for itself. Their performance, consistency and durability have played a key role in the incredible battles and close racing we have experienced in the championship in recent years, whilst – just as importantly – reducing the quantities.”

“Indeed, the company’s commitment to sustainability and its increasing use of sustainable materials are perfectly aligned with the FIA WEC’s future roadmap for the sport – another key reason why we are pleased to remain partners for at least the next five seasons.”

"Michelin is proud to extend its commitment to the FIA WEC, of which it has been a technical partner since the creation of the championship in 2012. Endurance is a discipline that fits perfectly with our Group's "all sustainable" vision and reflects the values of "sustainable performance" carried by the Michelin tires that we design every day."

“Michelin is a loyal partner, but also a benchmark in terms of innovations, adds Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The quality of the tires and the ongoing efforts in sustainable development are reasons that allow us to extend our collaboration today. I sincerely thank this prestigious brand for being at our side, at the top of endurance, in this incredible period for our discipline.

"Michelin is proud to extend its commitment to the FIA WEC, of which it has been a technical partner since the creation of the championship in 2012, also declares Matthieu Bonardel, Director of Michelin Motorsport. Endurance is a discipline that fits perfectly into our Group's "all sustainable" vision and reflects the values of "sustainable performance" carried by the Michelin tires that we design every day."

"Over the generations of cars, Michelin has significantly reduced the quantity of tires used in racing while supporting the increase in performance. By renewing its partnership with the FIA WEC, Michelin is committed to continuing to innovate in a sustainable manner. The next generation of MICHELIN Pilot Sport tires will meet particularly ambitious specifications, with a significant increase in the use of renewable and recycled materials."

“The technological relevance of the current regulations attracts many manufacturers. Thus, the FIA WEC constitutes a unique platform to strengthen our partnerships with the world's leading automotive brands and promote the transfer of our innovations to production vehicles and tires. Finally, the strong growth in the number of fans allows us to highlight our innovations to an ever wider audience.”

Michelin will introduce a new range of tires for the Hypercar category in 2026.
