Montagny: 'An Audi-Peugeot duel'

Franck, the biggest race of the year is finally here. Are you ready ?
We are ready but they are also ready in the opposing camp. It's really too early to say what will happen for us.

This is the third year of Peugeot with the 908, experience should speak for you?
Each has its advantage. For our part, we have the advantage of knowing our car well, of knowing what possible problems we may encounter in order to be able to manage them better. Audi has the advantage of having a new car that adheres to the current regulations, and of having opted for more advanced options.

So you think the fight is unequal?
When you build a car three years ago, you obviously have fewer weapons than those who develop a car that sticks to the regulations. And as the regulations are constantly evolving, it is normal that we cannot be at the same level.

All the drivers are talking about a race that will go down in history. Are you expecting a big fight?
I would like it to be a big fight. But it will come down to an Audi-Peugeot duel.

Thanks to Diesel?
Mainly thanks to the factories. It is not thanks to Diesel that we win but thanks to the factories, compared to private teams. For example, at Pescarolo, two days in the wind tunnel saved them quite a few tenths. It's not because they revolutionized the chassis but because they spent time in the wind tunnel. This is typically what factories do. This is why they are far ahead of the private teams.
