While the event was neutralized by a Full Course Yellow, Porsche remains at the forefront with Mark Webber.

Nürburgring-H+2: Porsche remains in the lead

The German brand remains in the lead of the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring at the end of the second hour of the race, despite problems having affected 1h33 of racing, Brendon Hartley victim of a slow puncture and forced to return to the pits.

Mark Webber took over from the New Zealander to begin his first stint. Coming out in sixth position, the Australian driver is currently in the lead ahead of the two No. 18 and No. 7 Audi R8s of Lotterer and di Grassi.

The No. 18 Audi R8 of Oliver Jarvis had nevertheless regained control of the event against the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°1 of Brendon Hartley after 1h15, overtaking the New Zealander before braking at the chicane on the German track. A few moments later, taking advantage of the presence of a laggard, André Lotterer also got the better of the world champion 919 when braking for the first corner, thus placing the two LM P1s at the rings in the first two positions. Romain Dumas ranks fourth with the n°919 Porsche 2 Hybrid ahead of both Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°5 and n°6 from Davidson and Sarrazin.

In LM P2, G-Drive and the No. 05 Oreca 26 remains in the lead with Alex Brundle at the wheel ahead of the Gibson 015S of Lewis Williamson (Strakka Racing) and theAlpine A460 n°36 by Gustavo Menezes. Note that the No. 05 Oreca 44 from the Manor team was penalized with a drive-through for an infraction during the pit stop.

In GTE Pro, theAston Martin n°95 by Nicki Thiim remains leader in the category ahead of both Ferrari 488 AF Corse n°51 from Calado and n°71 from Rigon. The first Ford GT, the No. 66 of Stefan Mücke, is in fourth place.

The No. 67 Ford GT, which suffered a fire during its first visit to the pits, finally returned to the track after 23 minutes spent in the box to resolve a tank valve problem. Andy Priaulx, however, brought his car back into the pits a few moments ago.

Yutaka Yamagishi dominates with the #7 Larbre Compétition Corvette C50.R the GTE Am category ahead of the No. 911 KCMG Porsche 78 RSR of Christian Ried and the No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage of Mathias Lauda. In the running for the top 3, François Perrodo made a mistake with the #458 AF Corse Ferrari 83 Italia when braking for the chicane and caused the Full Course Yellow which has just ended.
