ORECA: “Helping our customer teams”

With the ORECA 03, the Var team is turning to LMP2. However, the team?s official commitment only aims to complete the development of the prototype, in order to offer the best to the many customers. “We want to show the potential of the car, but even more so, gain as much experience as possible with the ORECA 03 in order to make it evolve for 2012 and offer the best package to our customers” notes David Floury, technical director of ORECA.

For the next 24 Hours of Le Mans, Hugues de Chaunac decided to trust David Hallyday, Alexandre Prémat and Dominik Kraihamer. “David has already driven the ORECA 03, but he needs to get to grips with it at Le Mans. Alexandre will discover it completely. As for Dominik, he is the only one to have driven it in a race, but he must understand the myth of Le Mans. Through these tests, we wish to define the basis of adjustments for the week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. »

ORECA does not intend to go it alone. If victory is of course the objective, the Var team wishes to play a real role of advice and technical support. “Our approach is completely transparent, says David Floury. On the one hand, our car will be completely identical to our customer teams. On the other hand, we will play open book with them. We want to help them and the presence of Dominik, driver of Boutsen Energy Racing, reinforces this idea. Our goal is to offer them different recommendations, whether in terms of mechanical or aero settings. »
