Paul Di Resta confirmed by United Autosports in WEC and Le Mans

For what will constitute his first campaign in the World ChampionshipEndurance, after hosting the European Le Mans Series for several seasons, United Autosports will rely on the experience of Paul Di Resta for the 2019-2020 Super-Season.

The Briton, also involved this season in the R-Motorsport / HWA team in DTM, will evolve on the Ligier JS P217 aligned by the structure of Richard Dean and Zak Brown on the events of the WEC, including the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans. Di Resta will be there at Le Mans this year (June 15-16).

Di Resta, who competed with United Autosports in Sarthe last year, as well as at Daytona, Sebring and Watkins Glen in IMSA, then in the Asian Le Mans Series, will support Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque, already formalized by the team.

“I think continuing with Phil after the Asian Le Mans Series and after bringing the first LM P2 championship to the team, the obvious next step is to move on to a world championship, says Di Resta.

It's good that the driver list is familiar, with Filipe too. It’s definitely a challenge I’m up for. We have a bit of time to prepare, but I think United are more than capable of performing. »
