Peugeot beats Audi at Silverstone

The 6 Hours of Silverstone will have offered a more indecisive race than the last meeting at Imola. More at ease in the fast curves of the British circuit than they were on the Italian track, the Audi R18s kept the Lionesses at bay for a good part of the race. The situation was getting worse for Peugeot when Frank Montagny (908 n°8) went off the track at the Copse corner, starting several laps behind the leaders after going to the pits to repair the car.

Allan McNish (Audi no. 2) was the second traffic victim after contact with the Ferrari No. 66 of the JMW in Becketts. Steering damaged for #2 forced to return to the pits. From then on, a duel began between the 908 n°7 of Bourdais-Pagenaud and No. 1 by Bernhard-Fässler. The turning point in the race came when Timo Bernhard damaged the rear of the R18, forcing it to go to the pits for repairs.

Jacques Nicolet, Alexandre Prémat and Olivier Pla completed the LMP1 podium by finishing first in the petrol crew with the No. 24 Oak Pescarolo ahead of the No. 16 Pescarolo of Jousse-Tinseau-Collard.

Ferrari dominates the GTE Pro category. Gianmaria Bruni and Giancarlo Fisichella took victory in the #458 AF Corse F51 and took the title in Le Mans Series. Makowiecki-Ortelli terminent deuxièmes avec la n°59 du Luxury Racing. Porsche complète le podium avec la n°77 de Lieb-Lietz (Felbermayr Proton).

Pegasus Racing wins in FLM with Schutlis-Simon-Schell (No. 95 Oreca) while victory in GTE Am goes to Armindo-Narac in the No. 67 Porsche.Imsa Matmut performance.
