Peugeot confirms its drivers for its return to Le Mans

The return of Peugeot Le Mans is getting closer and closer. Almost two months after the presentation of the technology of its Le Mans Hypercar, the French manufacturer has lifted the veil on its line-up responsible for taking care of its two LMHs from next year.

As revealed by CARhebdo January 7, Jean-Éric Vergne, Loïc duval, Kevin Magnussen, Mikkel Jensen, Paul di Resta and Gustavo Menezes were chosen to represent Peugeot in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) punctuated by 24 Hours of Le Mans, the flagship event of the discipline.

The Sochaux manufacturer has also confirmed James Rossiter within the team. The 37-year-old Englishman will serve as a simulator and reserve pilot for the Lion.

« The link between all project stakeholders is essential, explains Jean-Marc Finot, director of the program, when justifying the manufacturer's choices. In addition to performance, in our selection criteria and during our interviews, we placed a lot of emphasis on the connection between each person, their state of mind & their ability to work together, to unite, stimulate and push the team.

This human aspect is essential in endurance. It was also essential that they showed us their motivation to make this commitment their priority and not just a step in their career. ».

As a reminder, the little sister of the 908 is supposed to hit the track for the first time at the end of 2021 before its official debut in 2022.
