Peugeot n°8, a disillusioned crew

Bourdais-Montagny-Sarrazin, a 100% French trio which seemed to be the crew designated to join the arrival of these 24 Hours of Le Mans on your mind. Olivier Quesnel calls them “sprinters”, they were. Very fast for six hours, they then lost time in a prolonged pit stop. After this race, only Sébastien Bourdais was very disappointed, admitting that it was difficult on a personal level (see elsewhere).

For his part, Franck Montagny congratulated the crew and Peugeot Sport, while nevertheless emphasizing the human side of the ordeal. “ I am happy to be part of this team. It’s a great human adventure. Despite our strong temperaments, we were able to respect the instructions and directives. Bravo to Peugeot Sport. » Despite everything, there is no doubt that the only instruction that would have satisfied the former Super Aguri driver would have been to attack in an attempt to join the Peugeot no.9.

For his part, Stéphane Sarrazin was keen to underline the group spirit of all the Peugeot Sport crews. “ What is important is this double. For Peugeot, the season revolves around the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is therefore a great reward for the whole team. » Hoping that, if Peugeot continues in endurance, if the 2010 car is competitive, if the others are not, and if the three men are still there, they can take their chance. But this kind of opportunity like the drivers of the No. 8 had this weekend rarely comes back. The three men may be disappointed, these 24 Hours of Le Mans could have been theirs.
