Peugeot presents its?908

Collect the trophy 24 Hours of Le Mans, this is the team?s primary objective Peugeot Sport this season. And the weapon of reconquest is called 908 (Pictures). A name to be compared to that of its predecessor (908 HDi FAP) which has built up an eloquent track record in four years.

The car, still closed, cannot deny its relationship with the winner of the 2009 Sarthe double clock tower. But on closer inspection, all the parts are new. Concerning the engine, Bruno Famin and his troops opted for a V8 announced as developing 550 horsepower.

The other big novelty is in the size of the front wheels. Like Audi, the front and rear wheels will be similar, in order to increase grip at the front end of the car.

Driver question, as expected, no change compared to 2010. You don't change a winning team. So at Le Mans we will find the Marc Gené trio? Alexander Würz? Anthony Davidson on the No. 7, the No. 8 being entrusted to a 100% French crew, namely Nicolas Minassian? Franck Montagny? Stéphane Sarrazin. As for No. 9, it will see Pedro Lamy take turns, simon pagenaud and Sébastien Bourdais.

The car has already been running for a while, and seems ready for the 2011 season. First race on March 19 with the 12 Hours of Sebring, the opening round of the ILMC. But until then, numerous test sessions await Olivier Quesnel and his men.
