Peugeot: Priority for the title at Silverstone

After the disappointment of 24 Hours of Le Mans, Peugeot reassured itself by outrageously dominating the 6 Hours of Imola. On a circuit favorable to the Lionesses, Olivier Quesnel celebrated a new double after the one won during the 1000km of Spa-Francorchamps. With simon pagenaud, Sebastian Bourdais and Anthony Davidson on the No. 908 7 and Franck Montagny-Stéphane Sarrazin on the No. 8, the director of Peugeot Sport hopes to celebrate another success at the 6 Hours of Silverstone next week.

However, the priority will be to avoid any abandonment which would have direct consequences in the Championship. “Our goal is to win a second Manufacturers’ title in ILMC”, clearly indicates Olivier Quesnel. “For this we absolutely have to reach the finish with our two cars. The slightest abandonment could reset the counters to zero. But since the start of the season, our new car has demonstrated exemplary consistency and reliability. »

The director of Peugeot Sport specifies that the French manufacturer took advantage of the two months of summer break to improve the new 908 and prepare it for the two other events of the season with Petit Le Mans and the 6 Hours of Zuhai. “The meetings at Sebring, Spa, Le Mans and Imola came together very quickly during the first half-season. We therefore took advantage of the few weeks without competition to work in depth on its development, not only for this second part of the season, but also for 2012.”
