Peugeot wonders about the Audi R15

Bruno, we saw you attend the release of the Audi R15, the first cars to come to the weigh-in. What purpose ?
It was to be in the mood. But above all, as it is our number 1 opponent, it is interesting to see if there is not a little surprise, see the last definition of the car before the checks.

So what is your observation?
These are magnificent cars! Now, we still have the same questions (on aerodynamic compliance, editor's note). And we didn't get many answers. Certainly, there was a response since the Audis went through technical inspection. But we continue to study the file.

Third participation in the 24 Hours for the 908: is it a good year?
We can't say yet. We arrive at a certain level of maturity. It is certain that there are excuses that we were able to use in previous years which will not be valid this year. We have no room for error. However, we have Audi opposite, which is the favorite of the event.

Is your experience of the 908 an advantage compared to the youth of the Audi R15?
This could be an advantage, in theory. But I have no doubts about Audi's working capacity. They did everything necessary to ensure that it was reliable for 24 hours. I don't think it has more problems than the R10. In fact, we are in the opposite situation compared to 2008. There, it is Audi which has a recent car and which should be better in performance. For our part, we have experience and we should be better in operation and reliability.

Would leaving without victory be a difficult failure to take?
Of course, we are here to win. As much as Audi is the favorite of the event, because of its quality, because of its precedence, with a reliable car, which showed its entry qualities, we are there to win.

There is now a 908 at Pescarolo: rival or ally?
It's a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP: if that's the one that wins, that will suit us very well. On the other hand, the team Peugeot Sport risks taking a hit in terms of self-esteem. But our main objective is to make a Peugeot win. That of Henri (Pescarolo) is one more chance for a Peugeot to win. But on the track, she will be another rival.
