Peugeot works on team spirit

For three days, the three crews of the Peugeot 908 officials met at altitude, in Chamonix. This is how, from Wednesday to Friday, Nicolas Minassian, Pedro Lamy, Christian Klien, David Brabham, Alexander Wurz, Marc Gené, Stéphane Sarrazin, Franck Montagny and Sébastien Bourdais spent themselves in disciplines other than motorsport. Rafting, climbing, abseiling, football, cycling, tennis, canyoning, the pilots did not put any activity aside in order to prepare themselves ideally for the 24 hours of Le Mans.

If this three-day course had the appearance of physical preparation, it mainly served to create a team spirit between the different drivers, as confirmed by Serge Saulnier, Peugeot Sport team manager. “ Like every year, the objective of this type of course is above all to strengthen the links between them and within each crew, explains Serge Saulnier. Endurance is a sum of individualities that must be united and united. Through fun activities, they have a good time, discovering themselves in unexpected situations where mutual assistance is called upon. »

Ten days before the start of the Le Mans week, there is no doubt that the drivers needed to be away from the circuits. Because, from June 9, they will have to stick together in order to achieve the best performance during the legendary Sarthe event. Serge Saulnier, at the end of these three days, is already reassured by the solidarity seen in Chamonix. “ I am very satisfied with how this stay went because they have a lot of fun with each other, talk a lot and with two weeks of Le Mans, it is essential to create a real “team spirit!” » »
