Pierre Ragues remains open to a return to ELMS

2013 Champion ofELMS on'Alpine A450, Pierre Ragues then evolved into WEC over the last two years racing in the Morgan LMP2 of Team Sard Morand and the Corvette C7R of Larbre Competition. Although the French team did not manage to win in the GTE Am peloton, it still managed to reach the podium four times, which was enough to satisfy the 32-year-old Frenchman.

“It was truly a privilege to join this GTE-Am category which is always very competitive as well as to be able to represent Larbre Competition and Corvette on this project, declared Pierre Ragues. I really feel like I learned a lot while still being able to fight for the podium in each event. I think I quickly found my place in the GTE-Am category where my driving style suited me well. Of course we had to acclimatize to a number of parameters, notably managing the traffic with the prototypes, but it was interesting and the season went rather well, especially if we think about our 4 podiums. »

Pierre Ragues is now focusing on his program for the 2017 season where theEndurance will remain the priority. The French driver is studying among the options at his disposal a possible return to ELMS as the Championship continues to strengthen.

“With my management we are looking closely at the opportunities that present themselves to us for 2017, and of course the WEC is a place where I feel at home and would be very happy to be present there again. That said, we should not underestimate a great opportunity in ELMS if it presents itself because the level of the championship there is very high so we have to see what the off-season will bring us and whatever happens my motivation will be as always in good spirits », he added.
