Porsche announces its 2019 programs

It is within the confines of its research and development center in Zuffenhausen that Porsche revealed their intentions for the upcoming season, while celebrating their 2018 champions.

At the forefront of which we find in particular the French Frédéric Makowiecki and Patrick Pilet, winners of the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Petit Le Mans in IMSA (GTLM) as well as the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, but also their compatriots Julien Andlauer (winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Am) and Mathieu Jaminet (ADAC GT Masters champion), confirmed in the junior fold of the brand. Without forgetting of course Kévin Estre, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and leader of the WEC in GTE Pro.

As expected, no revolution expected for the year 2019, especially since the World ChampionshipEndurance now takes place over two calendar years. Thus, the pairs Richard Lietz-Gianmaria Bruni and Michael Christensen-Kévin Estre will finish the current campaign, supported respectively in Sarthe by Frédéric Makowiecki and Laurens Vanthoor, as was the case last June. Four 911 RSRs will be entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (if selected by the selection committee). The No. 93 will see Earl Bamber, Nick Tandy and Patrick Pilet take turns, and the No. 94 will see four juniors, namely Mathieu Jaminet, Sven Müller and Dennis Olsen.

At the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, two 911 GT3 R's will be fielded by Team Manthey for the usual quartets, with the exception of Romain Dumas who will be replaced by Michael Christensen. To stay in the GT3 category, we will find Dumas-Jaminet-Olsen who will compete in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Across the Atlantic, the crews will remain identical to this year with Pilet-Tandy and Bamber-Vanthoor and the reinforcement of Frédéric Makowiecki on the No. 911 and Mathieu Jaminet on the No. 912.
