Porsche on pole at the 6 Hours of Mexico

Unofficially best time of the three free practice sessions for the 6 Hours of Mexico, Porsche confirmed in qualifying. The No. 919 2 Hybrid will start from pole position with an average time of 1'24"562. The Bamber-Bernhard-Hartley trio will start in front of the sister car of Jani-Lotterer-Tandy, which conceded 0”148. Both Toyota follow at 0 »240 and 0 »816 respectively, n°7 of Conway-Kobayashi-Lopez having gained the upper hand on n°8 of Buemi-Davidson-Nakajima.

The Signatech stable Alpine signs his first pole position of the season thanks to an average time of 1'32"809 achieved by André negrao et Nicolas lapierre, who are supported by Gustavo Menezes. L'Alpine A470 n°36 precedes the Oreca 07 n°38 of Jackie Chan DC Racing (Laurent-Tung-Jarvis) and the Oreca 07 n°31 of Vaillante Rebellion (Canal-Cheers-Senna). Usually unbeatable in qualifying, the No. 26 G-Drive Racing Oreca is fourth.

In GTE Pro, Ferrari defied the odds thanks to the 488 GTE n°71 from Bird-Rigon. Credited with a time of 1'39"425, the beautiful Italian was 0"109 ahead ofAston Martin No. 95 by Sorensen-Thiim. Followed by the two Ford GTs, the #911 Porsche 92 RSR, the #51 Ferrari and the #91 Porsche.

Finally, the No. 911 Porsche 77 RSR of Dempsey-Proton Racing (Cairoli-Dienst-Ried) took pole position in GTE Am ahead of the No. 98 Aston Martin (Dalla Lana-Lamy-Lauda) and the No. 911 RSR °86 from Gulf Racing (Wainwright-Barker-Foster).

The start of the race will be given this Sunday at 19 p.m. French time.
