Porsche and Audi choose Multimatic for their LMDh chassis

We announced it to you in AUTOhebdo N°2289 and 2291 last December, it’s now official. Porsche and Audi will indeed collaborate with Multimatic for their comeback in Endurance in 2023.

The Canadian firm will take care of the design of the LMDh chassis for the prototypes of the two German manufacturers expected to compete in WEC and IMSA.

« Multimatic is the most obvious and logical solution for us, explains Fritz Enzinger, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport. We have known this highly respected company and its team of experienced professionals for many years and are absolutely convinced by the quality of their work.

We don't have to start a whole new relationship with them and we can get to the heart of the matter straight away. This is vital and necessary when developing a new racing car ».

This association is also doubly beneficial for Porsche since part of Multimatic's infrastructures are located in North Carolina (United States) where the other partner of the German manufacturer is based for its return to the premier category of Endurance , Team Penske.

« The collaboration has already proven to be harmonious and the team's enthusiasm is palpable at every meeting, explains Larry Holt, executive vice president of Multimatic. I am also pleased with the recent announcement from Porsche Penske Motorsport, as we have a long relationship with Roger Penske and his organization, both as a collaborator and competitor. I can think of no better team than our neighbor in North Carolina to field the new cars ».
