The 2024 season of Porsche Penske Motorsport in the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC) has been marked by progress and conquest. After an inaugural year in 2023 marked by irregular performances, the German-American team has worked hard to transform the Porsche 963 into a real competition machine in 2024, a year punctuated by the Drivers' title won by André Lotterer, Laurens Vanthoor and Kévin Estre in the No. 6.
There is no question for the Stuttgart firm to rest on its laurels. For 2025, the German manufacturer has decided to reorganize its crews, notably with the promotion of Julien Andlauer, while the experienced Frédéric Makowiecki and André Lotterer will now represent the interests of other brands (respectively Alpine and Genesis). A joker is also planned to evolve the prototype's suspension. This search for constant improvement is explained by the desire to reconquer the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the only false note of the past season despite the pole position signed by Kévin Estre.
Porsche Penske Motorsport will also be keen to defend its title, which will be no easy feat in the face of increasingly fierce competition. Competition will be even tougher in 2025, "This is what Thomas Laudenbach, vice-president of Porsche Motorsport, said in comments relayed by the WEC website.. Our opponents will improve and new competitors will also appear, but we feel well prepared. Over the last few months, we have carried out in-depth analyses and the results have already been incorporated into our preparations for the coming season. »
« We are returning from one of the most successful years in our brand's history in motorsport, added Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche AG. This gave us a boost at a time when we really needed it. Porsche cannot function without motorsport. Our racing cars represent our brand. They are our ambassadors on the racetracks around the world and are mobile innovation laboratories. The elements that we successfully test on the track often find their way into our production car development. This is what makes our production cars so unique and so appreciated by our customers. »
