Porsche can already finish in GTE Pro

Since 2012, and the launch of the World ChampionshipEndurance WEC, Ferrari et Porsche are the only manufacturers to have won the Manufacturers' title in GTE Pro, first in the form of a World Cup before the World Championship name was assigned to the category before the 2017 season.

But on an accounting level, the German brand remains very far from its Italian rival, which has won the category five times, when Porsche only won its only title in 2015.

2018-2019 can therefore mark a new page in the history of Weissach, with a Manufacturers' crown well within the reach of the 911 RSR before the 6 Hours of Spa this weekend. Porsche can even be titled in the Belgian round.

With 100 points ahead of Ferrari, the situation seems more than favorable to the two crews Kevin Estre – Michael Christensen and Gianmaria Bruni – Richard Lietz.

“After three years of winning titles in LM P1, we could move straight towards our next world championship with the Porsche 911 RSR, comments Fritz Enzinger, Vice President Motorsport at Porsche.

The fantastic results achieved in a very competitive GTE category over recent months have put the title within our reach at Spa. It would be a dream if we managed to secure it, and then we could enthusiastically approach the duel between our two crews at Le Mans for the Drivers' crown. »

The two Porsche tandems are also in a favorable position for the lead among the Drivers, Estre and Christensen dominating the ranking with 25 points ahead of their teammates Lietz – Bruni.
