Porsche wins in Brazil, Toyota world champion

Porsche aurait préféré empocher son premier succès en WEC in different circumstances. The race was interrupted 25 minutes from the finish following an impressive accident involving the #919 Porsche 20 Hybrid of Mark Webber and the Ferrari 458 Italia n°90 by Matteo Cressoni. After a few moments of waiting, Porsche announced that the Australian driver was "ok" before we saw the former driver F1 raise his arm, while being evacuated by ambulance after being taken care of by the medical team. Matteo Cressoni also escaped unscathed.

Du côté de la course, après plus de 210 tours, la Porsche 919 Hybrid n°14 de Neel Jani ? Romain Dumas ? Marc Lieb et la Toyota TS040 Hybrid n°8 of the world champion duo Sébastien Buemi ? Anthony Davidson were only separated a short second before the final pit stop. Neel Jani returned to the track with around fifteen seconds ahead of Anthony Davidson, but the neutralization of the event and the entry into the track of the Safety Car ultimately led to the end of the race under safety car regime. Porsche scores its first WEC success since its return to the highest level of theEndurance in LM P1 at the start of the season. Tom Kristensen in the No. 18 Audi R1 e-tron quattro gave himself a nice parting gift by climbing onto the third step of the podium. Wurz’s No. 7 Toyota? Conway ? Sarrazin, penalized with a drive-through for forcing the #919 Porsche 20 Hybrid to go off the track a little less than two hours from the finish, finished 4th ahead of the #2 Audi from Tréluyer – Fâssler – Lotterer. Toyota also wins the Manufacturers' title with this overall result and therefore achieves the double after the Drivers' title won by the Buemi pair? Davidson in Bahrain. In LM P1-L, is it Kraihamer's #13 Rebellion R-One? Belicchi? Leimer who wins following the gearbox problems encountered by the R-One n°12 of Cheers ? Heidfeld? Spade and the CLM P1/01.

In LM P2, the race and the outcome of the championship were decided from the first hour, following the exit of the track of the Ligier JS P2 of G-Drive Racing then driven by the Frenchman Olivier Pla, victim of a problem with the level of a suspension triangle. If the Oreca 03R of Alexandre Imperatori's KCMG? Matthew Howson and Richard Bradley won this last round of the season, the misadventures of the G-Drive benefited the Oreca 03R of SMP Racing and Sergey Zlobin who won the titles in the category.

In GTE Pro, victory went to the crew ofAston Martin #97 of Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke in front of the #911 Team Manthey Porsche 92 RSR of the Patrick Pilet duo? Frédéric Makowiecki. The #458 Ferrari 51 Italia of James Calado and Davide Rigon completed the podium, a third place which offered the Manufacturers' title to Ferrari and AF Corse. The #911 Porsche 91 RSR of Jörg Bergmeister and Richard Lietz was penalized for a collision in the S of Senna with the #99 Aston Martin of Fernando Rees, Alex MacDowall and Darryl O'Young.

In GTE Am, Aston Martin achieves the double with the No. 98 Vantage of the Lamy trio? Dalla Lana? Nygaard ahead of the n°95 of Thiim – Heinemeier-Hansson – Poulsen. Michele Rugolo, Stephen Wyatt and Andrea Bertolini completed the podium in the #81 AF Corse Ferrari.
