Porsche victorious, Toyota cursed!

Toyota remains cursed at Le Mans... A few moments from the finish, the TS050 Hybrid driven by Kazuki Nakajima (teammate of Sébastien Buemi and Anthony Davidson) dropped his pace before stopping on the pit straight. The No. 919 2 Hybrid of Neel Jani, Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb takes its 18th victory in Porsche in Sarthe (absolute record) by winning in front of the No. 6 Toyota of Stéphane Sarrazin, Mike conway et Kamui Kobayashi. This is the Frenchman's second victory in the Sarthe after that of 2010 won with Audi.

The #5 Toyota isn't even classified because of the time it took to complete its final lap!

Audi continues its tradition of achieving at least one podium at Le Mans every time. Despite very perfect reliability, the No. 8 of Lucas di Grassi, Oliver Jarvis and Loïc duval took third place several laps behind the winner, preceding the sister car of Benoît Tréluyer, Marcel Fässler and André Lotterer whose hopes of victory were dashed in the early hours. Nicolas's Rebellion R-One n°12 Cheers, Nick Heidfeld and Nelson Piquet Jr won in the private LMP1 class.

Alpine returns to success in Sarthe by winning the LMP2 category with the No. 36 of Nicolas lapierre, Gustavo Menezes and Stéphane Richelmi. G-Drive Racing took second place with the No. 05 Oreca 26 of Roman Rusinov, Will Stevens and René Rast finishing on the same lap. The #01 SMP Racing BR37 driven by Vitaly Petrov, Viktor Shaytar and Kirill Ladygan completes the top three in the category.

Ford achieves its goal for the 50th anniversary of its hat-trick on the Le Mans circuit. Sébastien’s #68 Ford GT Bourdais, Dirk Müller and Joey Hand won in GTE Pro ahead of the Ferrari 488 #82 of Risi Competizione driven by Giancarlo Fisichella, Toni Vilander and Matteo Malucelli and the #69 Ford GT of Scott Dixon, Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe. This is the first time that the four-time Champ Car champion has won a category victory in Sarthe.

Scuderia Corsa wins in GTE Am with the F458 of William Sweedler, Townsend Bell and Jeffrey Sagal.
