Why did Le Mans 2011 make history?

Crashes, daggers drawn battles in all categories? Both sportingly and emotionally, the 79th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will remain one of the most beautiful in history. Until a few minutes before arrival, last Sunday at 15 p.m., it was impossible to know who Peugeot or Audi would win the Grail.

Finally, after suffering two terrifying accidents on Saturday, from which the drivers fortunately emerged unscathed, the brand with the rings won its 10th victory in the Sarthe, with only 13 ahead of the first 854 from the Sochaux manufacturer. As for the Frenchman Benoît Tréluyer, he triumphed for the first time at Le Mans, after having left his mark on this event.

This week in your AUTOhebdo magazine, find a complete 42-page analysis of the 79th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans by our special correspondents in Sarthe. We looked into these two accidents, the images of which went around the world. How did they occur? How can we ensure that this doesn't happen again in the future? We also duly deciphered the Audi-Peugeot duel, and followed Benoît Tréluyer after the race, so he could explain to us how he, his team and his teammates built their victory.

Without forgetting the Kronos Racing 24 Hours of Le Mans seen from the inside, the Oreca and Pescarolo teams, LMP2, the formidable fight between Corvette, Ferrari, BMW and Porsche en GTE Pro ainsi que tous les échos du paddock?
