Prologue – EL1: Hertz Team JOTA at the head of a deserted session

- After several program changes, the Prologue of WEC finally took place this early afternoon in Qatar with a three-hour session. This first driving session being optional, only nine cars registered, the other 28 having chosen the last session on Tuesday.
- Only three Hypercars ran during this deserted session: the two Hertz Team JOTAs and the Isotta Fraschini. Logically, both Porsche customers signed a double on the clock. Frenchman Norman Nato (Hertz Team JOTA no. 12) set the benchmark in 1:41.822, ahead of his teammate Phil Hanson (1:43.206) in the Hertz Team JOTA no. 38. Both cars covered 61 laps for the #38 and 58 for the #12.
- The Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 stayed for a long time during the first half of the session before completing around twenty laps with a best time of 1:45.928
- Only six LMGT3s were on track: both McLaren from United Autosports, the two Corvettes from TF Sport as well as the Lamborghini Iron Lynx and Iron Dames. The No. 82 TF Sport Corvette covered the most kilometers during this session with 78 laps. The No. 95 United Autosports McLaren set the best time in the class at 1:56.679.
- Meet at 16:00 p.m. (French time) for the second practice session of the day. All cars will be on track this time. The session will be followed live with commentary on AUTOhebdo.fr.
