Prologue – EL2: Cadillac one-two ahead of Ferrari and Porsche

The Cadillacs of the Hertz Team JOTA team scored a one-two finish in the second test session of the WEC 2025 Prologue, held this Friday evening in Qatar.

  • The golden Cadillac V-Series.Rs shone in the night of Losail. The two cars from the American manufacturer in fact scored a one-two finish during the second practice session of the Prologue, held this Friday evening in Qatar. The best time was set by Alex Lynn in 1:39.575 at the wheel of the n°12, ahead of Sébastien Bourdais on #38 at 0.213 seconds.
  • The first four of this session are within three tenths of a second, with Antonio Fuoco (Ferrari n°50) third at 0.226 seconds and Julien Andlauer (Porsche n°5) at 0.298 seconds. Author of the best time of the first test session a little earlier in the day, Robert Kubica (AF Corse n°83) completed the top 5 with a deficit of 0.689 seconds.
  • The Ferraris played as a group this Friday evening since the 499 n°51 took sixth place through Antonio Giovinazzi, the only other driver in the same second as Lynn.
  • On the French manufacturers side, the two Peugeot finished in the top ten cars in the Hypercar category. Driving the #93, Jean-Eric Vergne set a lap in 1:41.133 (9th) placing him ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne (1:41.261, 10th). At Alpine, the two A424s finished in 13th and 14th place. Frédéric Makowiecki set the reference time for the No. 36 in 1:41.433, just ahead of Paul-Loup Chatin in the No. 35 (1:41.515).
  • 7th and 11th, the Toyota were the most diligent on the track with 126 laps covered by the Toyota n°7 and 121 by the n°8.
  • The Aston Martin Valkyrie, the big attraction of this new 2025 season of WEC, finished 16th and 18th, flanking the Proton Competition Porsche 963 No. 99 which did not run much, with a delay of 2.709 seconds for the No. 009 and 3.405 seconds for the No. 007.
  • The French team Akkodis ASP showed itself in good form during this first day of the Prologue. After the n°78 earlier in the day, the n°87 set the reference time of the GT3 category in the evening under the impetus of the Argentinian Jose Maria Lopez in 1:54.959. Newcomers to the WEC, the Mercedes-AMG brought up the rear in this session. After a problem encountered during the first driving session of the day, the #77 Proton Competition Ford Mustang did not run.
