- The Prologue of the 2025 season of the World ChampionshipEndurance ended this Saturday with a fourth and final practice session held in the evening in Losail, Qatar. After Ferrari, Cadillac and Porsche, a fourth manufacturer has taken over the top of the timesheet with BMW.
- Robin Frijns set the benchmark time of 1:38.971 at the wheel of the BMW M Hybrid V8 No. 20. The Dutchman's time is the fastest of the weekend and even faster than the pole position for the 1812 km of Qatar 2024, set by Matt Campbell (Porsche) in 1:39.347.
- Already second Friday evening, Sébastien Bourdais again set the second fastest time in this session. The Frenchman finished 0.145 seconds behind Frijns with the Cadillac No. 38. In fine form during this Prologue, Robert Kubica completed the podium 0.170 seconds behind at the wheel of the Ferrari 499P No. 83 of AF Corse.
- Among the French manufacturers, the best performance of this last session is to be put to the benefit of Mick Schumacher, seventh at the wheel of theAlpine A424 n°36 in 1:39.505. The first Peugeot finished 11th through Jean-Eric Vergne in 1:40.138.
- The Aston Martin Valkyrie moved up the rankings with 13th and 14th places. A performance to be qualified however, since the two English prototypes still conceded more than two seconds on the best time and some cars focused their work on the race relays.
- Discreet in terms of times during this four-hour driving session, the Toyota and Porsches are the cars that have covered the most kilometers.
- In GT3, the Ferrari 296s of the Vista AF Corse team set the two best times of this session. Simon Mann put the #21 in first place with a lap of 1:54.790 ahead of Francesco Castellacci in the #54.
- See you on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. (French time) for Free Practice 1 of the 1812 km of Qatar, the first round of the 2025 season of the WEC.
