The first day of the WEC Prologue ended with the best time for an LM P2: the Prema Oreca 07 driven by Robert Kubica.

Prologue – Day 1: Robert Kubica and Prema finish the day in the lead

After the morning storm, a patch of blue sky reappeared above the Sebring International Raceway where the Prologue of the WEC this week-end. The Prema team (Lorenzo Colombo, Louis Delétraz, Robert Kubica) took the opportunity to record the best time of the day, thanks to Robert Kubica. The Pole actually completed a lap in 1:49.084. It thus beat the first Hypercar, the A480 ofAlpine (Andre Negro, Nicolas lapierre, Matthieu Vaxivirere) by 0.126 seconds. The French teams were definitely in high spirits this Saturday afternoon since the Richard Mille Racing Team of Lilou Wadoux, Sébastien Ogier and Charles Milesi took third place in the general classification, 0.323 behind Prema. The LM P2 podium was completed by the AF Corse n°83 (Nicklas Nielsen, François Perrodo, Alessio Rovera).

Glickenhaus (Olivier Pla, Romain Dumas, Ryan Briscoe) a décidément très peu roulé pour cette première journée en Floride, mais l’écurie américaine est remontée au cinquième rang de la feuille des temps, en 1:49.436. Les Toyota sont restées plus en retrait pendant cette deuxième séance avec une 7e place pour la n°7 (Mike conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria López) in 1:49.624 and a 10th for n°8 (Brendon Hartley, Sébastien Buemi, Ryo Hirakawa) in 1:50.027. The Japanese prototypes are nevertheless those which covered the most laps on the track.

Porsche dominates in GTE Pro, Ferrari in GTE Am

In GTE Pro, Porsche a confirmé sa mainmise sur les chronos avec le meilleur temps pour la n°92 de Kévin Estre et Michael Christensen en 1:56.494 devant la n°91 de Richard Lietz et Gianmaria Bruni en 1:57.009. Corvette (Tommy Milner, Nick Tandy) a une nouvelle fois complété le podium de cette session de roulage en 1:57.029.

The Iron Lynx showed their teeth in GTE Am with the #60 of Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cressoni and Giancarlo Fisichella at the top of the timesheet with a 1:58.227 on the clock. The transalpine trio beat the #911 Porsche 19 RSR – 56 of Team Project 1 (Ben Barnicoat, Brendon Iribe, Ollier Millroy) and the Iron Dames Rahel Frey, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy.
