Quesnel: “In a dream”

Mr. Quesnel, is this victory a feeling of relief?
There was great expectation from the public but also from Peugeot . Last year, after the failure in 2008, the team was much criticized. We had a huge challenge to take on. It must also be said that the week was lively. From Wednesday, we could give way to the race. And there, it was like a dream. The free practice sessions went very well, as did the timed practice sessions. So much so that I even authorized Stéphane (Sarrazin) to chase pole.

How did you experience the race?
She got off to a quick start, probably too fast. After our troubles, I thought we were going to take on water. Then everything got better during the night. We arrived early in the morning with the first two places and one lap ahead. We finished six laps ahead. It is above all a collective victory. In this regard, I would like to thank the drivers for following the team instructions.

Will you be there in 2010?
I want to come back. But I need a strong signal to be sent to me. And above all, I want us to be given clear and stable rules. Beyond that, I have always said that our future presence would not depend on a victory or a defeat. But it is obvious that this great success can help convince Peugeot's management to lower the lever to the right side.
