Quesnel: “A tight explanation at Imola”

Absolutely beautiful, the 79th edition of the 24 Hours was cruel for Peugeot , who had to bow for 13??854. With the double turn of the Sarthe clock over, the Sochaux firm must now concentrate on the ILMC, a championship in which it dominates the Manufacturers' ranking.

“Since the start of the ILMC season, all the races have been very competitive, underlines Olivier Quesnel, director of Peugeot Sport. We saw it at Le Mans, we had to attack for 24 hours. At Sebring, the top three were grouped within 44 seconds after 12 hours of racing. At Spa-Francorchamps, we achieved the double after an incredible comeback; our two cars being separated by around forty seconds on arrival. We again expect a tight 6-hour explanation in Imola. »

At the wheel of the No. 7, Briton Anthony Davidson will share the wheel with Sébastien Bourdais. As for the sister car, which will display the number 8, it will be entrusted to the 100% tricolor duo Stéphane Sarrazin-Franck Montagny. With 103 points against 69 for Audi, Peugeot could gain a significant advantage over its German rival if it succeeds in Italy. Be careful, the Lion is hungry?
