Race Performance with the Oreca 03

Race Performance has been involved in endurance for a year. The team formed in 2003 distinguished itself in Formula Renault 2.0 Switzerland and in the Eurocup Megane Trophy, before tackling an endurance program in the LMP2 category. After securing 18th place in the general classification of 24 Hours of Le Mans (sixth in its category), Race Performance changes prototype and opts for the Oreca 03 which will be equipped with a Judd HK engine.

Michel Frey, driver and director of Race Performance, wants to obtain better results in 2011 with the Oreca 03 after encouraging results at the last 24 Hours of Le Mans. “We had a very interesting year in 2010,” he commented on the Oreca website. “Participate and? what we couldn't hope for? finishing the 24 Hours of Le Mans remains an indescribable experience. »

“With the power and strength of a new car? especially with the great knowledge and experience of Oreca and Judd? we hope to take a big step forward,” added the director of the Swiss team. “The team will register for the entire Le Mans Series and we hope? if our request is accepted? be at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. »

Michel Frey seems convinced that Oreca's professionalism will greatly help his team. “We knew ORECA and its experience as a manufacturer, its ability to run fast and, even more importantly, reliable cars. But it was the state of mind and the passion that we saw in the eyes of the people we met that definitely pushed us towards Oreca. Then, as a Swiss team, we are happy to be at a reasonable distance from the workshops, which simplifies logistics and communication. »

For its part, the French group is happy to see Race Performance among their customers. “It is a great satisfaction to be able to count Race Performance among the teams which will shine the colors of the Oreca 03 next year,” declared David Floury, the technical director of the French team. “This team has an interesting trajectory and an impressive rate of progression since its beginnings in 2003. Finishing the 24 2010 Hours for its first participation was a great accomplishment and all of ORECA will do its utmost to help Race Performance do even better in 2011. »
