Robert Kubica joins ByKolles Racing

ByKolles Racing confirmed the presence of Robert Kubica at the ACO press conference held this Thursday, February 2. The Austrian team will enter the only private LMP1 in the field of WEC with the CLM01/P1 now powered by Nismo following the withdrawal of Rebellion Racing which will now be in LMP2.

After his career in F1 and rally, Robert Kubica therefore tackles theEndurance with a first season at world level where he will compete with Oliver Webb, and a 3rd driver who has yet to be confirmed.

“After my time in rallying, I looked for something as close as possible to F1 and that’s exactly what I found in LMP1., recognized the Pole. I was able to take my first spin on the CLM01/P1 at the end of last year. I quickly felt very comfortable and was able to increase my pace effectively. I'm sure I'll get even more performance out of it with more experience. I'm already looking forward to the Prologue at Monza (April 1 and 2) and the start of the season at Silverstone (April 16). »

“The professional ByKolles Racing team will continue to make important changes to the car during the season and I am delighted., recalled the former pilot Renault. The WEC is run on circuits that I know from my time in F1, with the exception of Le Mans. I have heard so many great things about this event in Sarthe. I am very excited to make my first start in this 24-hour race. »
