Signatech-Alpine focuses on qualifying in Mexico

Signatech-Alpine will return this weekend to the 6 Hours of Mexico contested at the Autodromo Ricardo Rodriguez where it took second place in LMP2 last year by finishing less than 2 seconds behind the Ligier JS P2 of RGR by Morand. The stable of Philippe Sinault, which only enters one Alpine A470 with Nicolas lapierre, Gustavo Menezes and André negrao. The No. 36 is in 3rd place in the Championship, 13 points behind the Oreca 07 No. 31 of Vaillante Rebellion.

“With altitude, the scarcity of oxygen requires adapting the engine and chassis settings. We expect an intense fight and very close gaps from qualifying. Overtaking being relatively difficult on this track, you will need to be well qualified to stay in the right car from the first laps. comments Philippe Sinault, Team Principal of Signatech Alpine.

André Negrao will replace Matt Rao after playing in the No. 35 sister car alongside Pierre Ragues and Nelson Panciatici.

“Since the start of the season, André has not only stood out with his level of performance, but also with his great ability to adapt. Our ambitions are high and we would be disappointed not to finish on the podium on Sunday evening”, adds Philippe Sinault.

“I feel that the 6 Hours of Nürburgring was a turning point in our season and that we had made significant progress in all areas, including tire management. So I hope we build on that to continue the same momentum.”, announces for his part Bernard Ollivier, the deputy general director ofAlpine.
