Simon Pagenaud: “The objective is to try to win Le Mans”

The 2011 edition of 24 Hours of Le Mans will remain for many one of the most beautiful in history, with a legendary finish between Audi and Peugeot , the German brand winning with the trio Benoît Tréluyer – André Lotterer – Marcel Fässler by 13 seconds against simon pagenaud – Sébastien Bourdais –Pedro Lamy.

Since then turned to the United States with success (champion IndyCar 2016 and recent winner of the 500 Indianapolis 2019 with Team Penske), Simon Pagenaud, currently on tour in France, repeated his desire to add the Sarthe double clock tour to his list of achievements

“I finished second, so we have to try and close the deal, admitted, quoted by Reuters, Poitevin on the sidelines of the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he went last weekend.

It's one of the best memories of my career and, of course, after winning Indy and finishing second at Le Mans, the goal is to try to win Le Mans as well. One day I will definitely try to come back and be in the right situation to win. I will only do it if it is possible to win the race. »

And thus join big names in motorsport having achieved the Indianapolis – Le Mans double like AJ Foyt or Graham Hill. Will the Hypercars regulations provide the right equation for Simon Pagenaud?
