Sinault: “Soheil is an important element”

Lucas Ordoñez, Franck Mailleux and therefore Soheil Ayari, this is the trio who will defend the interests of Signatech Nissan in ILMC this season. Initially, Soheil was to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans within Team Oreca Matmut, but the opportunity to compete in the entire Intercontinental Le Mans Cup was too tempting. As was already the case at Sebring, the driver from Aix-Les-Bains will drive the No. 03 Oreca 26-Nissan during the 6 remaining rounds of this championship set up by the ACO and therefore at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 11-12) and the test day on April 24.

“I am very happy to finally be able to join the Signatech Nissan team, explains Soheil Ayari. Since the time of F3 we are in contact with Philippe (Sinault). This new challenge is very motivating and I think that? there is a real challenge to be had this year. I know the car very well, since I developed the Oreca 03 chassis last winter, and I drove the LMP1 version in 2010. With Franck Mailleux and Lucas Ordoñez we complement each other. Sebring was a good test for that. I was curious about Lucas given his background, but he has an incredible ability to concentrate, and he performed well at Sebring, which is a difficult race. »

The car and the team are in the game, as Sebring proved. With such a trio, all hopes are allowed.

“Soheil’s performance at Sebring was more than satisfactory, continues boss Philippe Sinault. He is an important element for us in our work on the Oreca 03 chassis, because he knows the car perfectly. I am happy to have him among us. Since Sebring we have worked a lot and we have a private test session next week. I hope we will reap the benefits from the test day of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on April 24. »

An appointment is therefore made next week at Le Mans, for what will be a crucial day in preparation for the 79th edition of the Sarthe double clock tower.
