Peugeot has finally found his 7th man for the world championshipEndurance. The Lion brand has formalized the promotion of Stoffel Vandoorne as reserve driver for the 2023 season of WEC. The French team did not go far, since the Belgian is already racing under the colors of the Stellantis group in Formula E, at DS-Penske. The reigning electric championship champion will fill a role left vacant at Peugeot since the departure of Kevin Magnussen en Formula 1, early 2022.
Welcoming our newest member to Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, @svandoorne as our reserve driver!

Stoffel Vandoorne should have made his first run with the Peugeot 9X8 during the Rookie Test in Bahrain last November, but had to give up due to appendicitis. The Belgian will therefore be the Lion brand's number 1 solution if one of the usual starters is not available for a round of the WEC. He will also be responsible for carrying out tests for the French Hypercar.
“Very happy to join Peugeot Sport as reserve driver for the 2023 WEC season! It’s great to come back to the world of endurance racing where I have unfinished projects”, reacted Stoffel Vandoorne via his social networks. The ex-F1 driver is no stranger to Endurance since he has two starts in 24 Hours of Le Mans (2019 and 2021), including an overall podium with BR Engineering in 2019 and a podium in the LM P2 category with Jota in 2021.
