Stoffel Vandoorne joins the MissionH24 program

After Norman Nato, MissionH24 will be able to count on Stoffel Vandoorne for the development of its prototype. Together, the two men will continue to work on the arrival of an electric-hydrogen category in 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024.

Exploiting the prototypes of MissionH24, H24Racing “ expects a lot from these two drivers with their already brilliant track record ". Stoffel Vandoorne, without any electric-hydrogen experience, will be able to discover the prototype in a few weeks at the start of the 2021 private testing schedule.

« I am very happy to join MissionH24 and the H24Racing team and I thank Jean-Michel Bouresche for asking me, explains Stoffel Vandoorne. I have several reasons to be enthusiastic: firstly, participating in this innovative program which is building one of the futures of motorsport is an opportunity for a driver passionate about innovations like me.

Then, knowing that I will be working with my friend Norman Nato is a great pleasure: friends outside the track, we have been adversaries but never teammates. Here we are, finally united around the same project on which he began working two years ago: making electric-hydrogen propulsion competitive in Endurance. It's a sporting and technological challenge that I like. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the new H24 prototype! »

Presented last September, the H24 prototype is designed around the powertrain produced by GreenGT. He takes up the torch from the LMPH2G, the first electric-hydrogen propulsion project in the MissionH24 program.

Norman Nato and Stoffel Vandoorne will ensure “ together as often as possible », or separately when their schedules do not allow it, the development of this new car.

The competitive debut of the H24 is planned for this year at the Le Mans Cup. MissionH24 and H24Racing will soon reveal the identity of the two other drivers in the program.
