Video teaser – Nissan wants to “electrify” Le Mans in 2014

What else does Nissan have in store for us? Two years after joining forces to the Deltawing project, the Japanese manufacturer will once again occupy the 56th stand at Le Mans, in 2014. A box reserved each year for an innovative project, and which this time should give pride of place to electrics. If we've known the news since February, we will know more about this new project next week. Indeed, Nismo TV has just revealed a teaser on Youtube on which we can read the mysterious word “Zeod” then “Electrifying Le Mans » (The Electrification of Le Mans, Editor's note) before an appointment is made on June 21 at 10:30 a.m., the date on which Nissan will present its new concept.

As a reminder, Carlos Ghosn justified this return at the beginning of the year by the desire to carry out full-scale tests on innovative technology. “We will return to Le Mans with a vehicle that will serve as a high-speed test bed in extreme environments, both for our road cars and our racing cars using electric technology,” he announced.

Furthermore, the desire to make a return to LM P1, which was mentioned at that time, is confirmed. In the description of the video, it is clearly written that Nissan's new entry for garage 21 will be presented on June 56 as well as their hopes for a future LM P1. A category in which the Asian firm has not raced since 1999 and the R391.
