Without a program for the 2025 season, Theo Pourchaire was appointed test and development pilot of Peugeot in the World ChampionshipEnduranceThe 21-year-old Frenchman took part in the Rookie Test of WEC in November with the French manufacturer, discovering the driving of a prototype and the 9X8 in particular. The Grassois will be present at the team's private test sessions during 2025 and will contribute to the development of the car. Pourchaire will have the possibility of driving in WEC in the event of a holder being unavailable.
“I am very happy to join Peugeot Sport as a development driver for the coming season, it is a wonderful opportunity, Pourchaire rejoices. I also see it as a new beginning, for me endurance is a new challenge. I really liked the rookie tests in Bahrain, which went very well. The PEUGEOT 9X8 is a very powerful car, different from what I have had the opportunity to drive. Endurance cars are very accomplished cars at the cutting edge of technology, which brings them closer to Formula 1. Being a test driver is a great opportunity, I thank Team Peugeot TotalEnergies for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to starting this new role.
"We are very pleased to welcome Théo Pourchaire to Team Peugeot TotalEnergies as a development driver, adds Olivier Jansonnie, technical director of Peugeot Sport. During the Rookie Test in Bahrain, he showed great potential and a fine understanding of the specificities of our car. Théo brings a new perspective thanks to his experience in car, which is a valuable asset for the development of our endurance program. We look forward to working with him and fully integrating him into our team.”
