Toyota confirms in FP2

Credited with the two best times in the first free practice sessions for the 6 Hours of Silverstone, the Toyota TS050 Hybrids have once again proven that it will be very difficult to find them this weekend.

Si Toyota dominates, unsurprisingly, the competition, for the moment it is the TS050 Hybrid n°7 which has the advantage. Already in the lead in EL1, the trio Conway-Lopez-Kobayashi confirmed this evening, thanks to a lap completed in 1'38"536. The sister car, number 8 of Buemi-Alonso-Nakajima, follows at 1”537.

In the LM P1 Non-Hybrid clan, Rebellion could only count on a single R13 after the setbacks encountered this morning by Bruno Senna. It was the No. 1 BR17 fielded by SMP Racing for Sarrazin-Orudzhev, which climbed to third place, 1”643 behind the reference time. The top 5 is completed by the #13 R3 of Beche-Menezes-Laurent (+2”833) and the #1 BR11-AER of Button-Aleshin-Petrov (+3”051). Equipped with the Gibson V8, the BR1 n°10 from DragonSpeed is less lively since it is at 4”913.

In LM P2, Jackie Chan DC Racing took the lead thanks to Gabriel Aubry, who completed a lap in 1'45"311 aboard the No. 07 Oreca 38. Signatech Alpine, TDS Racing and the second car of the Chinese team are in the same second.

If Ford has confirmed its control over the GTE Pro thanks to the No. 67 of Priaulx-Tincknell, credited with a 1'56"898, the good news comes from the arrival at the forefront of the new Aston Martin Vantage AMR. The No. 97 of Maxime Martin-Alex Lynn in fact slipped between the two GTs hitting the blue oval, and is only 0 behind the best time. Fourth, number 128 confirms that the new BoP had a positive effect on the performances of the beautiful English women. Fifth, the Ferrari 488 GTE n°51 is 1”2 and ahead of the best by 0”098 Porsche 911 RSR, namely n°92. The bill is, however, steep for BMW, which brings up the rear, with a delay of around two seconds.

In GTE Am, Proton-Dempsey Racing confirms its current form thanks to the No. 88 that the father and son Roda share with Matteo Cairoli. Here too, Aston Martin returned to the forefront, the No. 98 of Dalla Lana-Lamy-Lauda in second place, just ahead of the second 911 RSR from Dempsey-Proton Racing.
