Toyota controls fourth hour of race at Spa

Toyota, with the TS050 Hybrid n°8 of Kazuki Nakajima, maintains the advantage at the head of the 6 Hours of Spa 2019, at the end of the fourth hour of the race which saw the return of rain and snow mixed together.

Toyota took no risks and logically called Kazuki Nakajima back to the pits to replace the wet tires during the main downpour shortly before 17 p.m. Similar strategy for the entire peloton in the moments that follow.

On a drying track, Nakajima is currently one lap ahead of the BR1 n°11 – SMP Racing of Vitaly Petrov (although penalized with a drive-through for non-compliance with a Full Course Yellow procedure).

Nathanaël Berthon placed the No. 13 R3 back on the podium to the detriment of the No. 1 sister car, now driven by Bruno Senna.

The LM P2 category saw a change of leader during this fourth hour, with the No. 07 Oreca 38 taking over – Jackie Chan DC Racing d’Ho Pin Tung, passed in front of theAlpine A470 n°36 – Signatech Alpine currently managed by Nicolas lapierre.

But the latter closed the gap during this last stint, and came back to 2″ behind the leader. Roman Rusinov (Aurus 01 n°26 – G-Drive Racing) completes the provisional podium at 43″.

Porsche avec la 911 RSR n°92 de Kévin Estre est en tête en GTE Pro avec 4″ d’avance sur l’Aston Martin Vantage n°97 by Alex Lynn. James Calado maintains a Ferrari 488 GTE on the provisional podium 7″5 behind Estre.

No changes in GTE Am where Clearwater Racing and the #488 Ferrari 61 have a solid lead over the #911 Porsche 56 RSR – Team Project1.
