Toyota in the unknown for the Nürburgring

Toyota Gazoo Racing se prépare à reprendre le WEC after his new disillusionment with 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Japanese manufacturer will compete this weekend in the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring (Germany) by fielding its two TS050 Hybrids with Conway-Kobayashi-Lopez on n°7 and Buemi-Davidson-Nakajima on #8.

“We have used the weeks since Le Mans to regain strength and focus on the upcoming 6-hour rounds starting with the Nürburgring, comments Toshio Sato, the president of the team. It will be interesting to see Porsche's high downforce package evolve for the first time and we don't know what to expect. »

Toyota Gazoo Racing remains cautious about its chances of success after not being able to achieve a better result than 5th during the last two editions.

“The Nürburgring is a circuit that I know well since the start of my career, explains Sébastien Buemi who will be replaced by Pierre Gasly for the New York ePrix. It is not an easy circuit and the weather can often impact the race. We haven't had very good results at the Nürburgring in the last two years and we will work hard to change that. »

Porsche has won the last two editions of the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring.
