Toyota ahead in qualifying, Alpine missing the Hyperpole

Rebellion didn't even really attempt a fast lap. With five LMP1s on the grid, they were certain to participate in the Hyperpole, which will take place on Friday morning. The first of the Swiss prototypes finished four seconds behind the Toyota n°7 qui a signé le meilleur temps avec Mike conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez in 3’17”089. The sister car follows by less than three tenths.

In LM P2 on the other hand, there was suspense and the favorites are already in the game. Racing Team Nederland set the best time in 3'26"648 with Nyck De Vries ahead of Jackie Chan DC Racing, the United Autosports n°22 of Filipe Albuquerque and the High Class Racing of Kenta Yamshita.

No French team will be in Hyperpole, since Panis Racing only finished ninth, just ahead ofAlpine led by Andre Negrao placeholder image, Pierre Ragues and Thomas Laurent. Cool Racing finished 12th.

Concerning the IDEC Sport cars accieented in free practice, the n°28 of Paul-Loup Chatin, Paul Lafargue and Richard Bradley will start the race, it will be reassembled during the night. The sister car of Dwight Merriman, Kyle Tilley and Jonathan Kennard is awaiting approval from the medical profession to see if it will be able to leave.

In GTE Pro, no surprises either. THE Aston Martin, ahead during free practice, once again dominated the session. Those eliminated were also expected since the Ferrari 488 from Risi Competizione, which did not race this year, and the Ferrari from WeatherTech, initially entered in Am, finished at the bottom of the ranking.

Night free practice will begin at 20 p.m. and last until midnight.
