Toyota hits the nail on the head in EL2

Like this morning, the free practice sessions were greatly disrupted by “bananas” with an unfortunate tendency to tear off. Having to stop the session twice, the race direction took the decision to remove them.

Pas de quoi perturber Toyota, qui s’est de nouveau adjugé les deux meilleurs temps. La TS050 Hybrid n°8 de Buemi-Alonso-Nakajima completed a lap in 1'23"973, 1"0 better than the sister car, entrusted to the trio Conway-Lopez-Kobayashi.

In the LM P1 Non-Hybrid clan, Rebellion Racing took over SMP Racing. But the R13 n°3 of Beche-Menezes-Laurent, third, is still relegated to 1”7 from the reference mark. The best BR1-AER, the n°11 of Petrov-Button-Aleshin is only 0, ahead of the second Rebellion and the second BR.

Fourth this morning, Signatech Alpine took the lead in LM P2 thanks to a time of 1’30”410. The trio Stone-negrao-Thiriet precedes the two Oreca 07s from Jackie Chan DC Racing, which seem to confirm their return to the forefront which began at Silverstone.

In GTE Pro, Aston Martin dislodged Ford from the top of the hierarchy. Credited with a 1'37"659, the No. 95 Vantage AMR of Sorensen-Thiim is ahead of the No. 67 Ford of Priaulx-Tincknell, the Ferrari 488 GTE n°71 de Bird-Rigon et les deux Porsche 911 RSR. Toutes les GTE Pro sont dans la même seconde, mais les BMW accusent tout de même un déficit de 0 »7 sur la meilleure Aston.

Dempsey-Proton Racing has control of the GTE Am, the No. 911 88 RSR of Cairoli-Roda-Hoshina ahead of the No. 77 of Andlauer-Campbell-Ried.

Due to the vibration incidents that punctuated the day, the third free practice session, tomorrow morning, will exceptionally last 1h30 instead of 1h. Then meet for qualifying, at 7 a.m. French time.
