Toyota and Alonso lead the way after three hours of racing

After three hours of competition at Spa-Francorchamps for the opening of the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC), The Toyota of the double champion of Formula 1 Fernando Alonso leads the way with 50 seconds ahead of the sister car of Kamui Kobayashi.

The two Rebellions appeared on both steps of the podium for a time, but remained in the second place (Neel Jani 3rd, Mathias Beche 4th). Starting last after a gearbox failure in qualifying, Egor Orudzhev's BR1 is fifth.

Return to the lead of LM P2 after the relay Jean-Eric Vergne, G-Drive Racing dominates the class with a comfortable lead of one minute over theAlpine from André negrao. Jackie Chan DC Racing follows at a good distance (Aubry two minutes away).

In the GTE Pro class, the Porsche 911 RSR Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz shifts into overdrive from the third relay. The only Ford GT still on the track, that of Stefan Mücke, Olivier Pla and Billy Johnson, clings to second place. Note the poor form of the news Aston Martin, non-existent for the Top 5 fight.

The other American car went off the track in Raidillon after an hour of effort, in an accident very similar to that of Pietro Fittipaldi the day before. Fortunately, Harry Tincknell, then behind the wheel, got out of the wreck under his own power.

Finally, the antique Aston Martin Vantage dominates the GTE Am category after an impressively easy stint from Pedro Lamy. Julien Andlauer (Porsche 911 RSR from Dempsey Proton Racing) was slowed down for several tens of minutes due to a mechanical problem.
