Toyota leader at mid-race in Italy

La Toyota GR010 n°7 by José Maria Lopez – Kamui Kobayashi - Mike conway maintains the advantage at the halfway point 6 Hours of Monza, third round of WEC 2021.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Hypercar, currently driven by the Argentinian driver, is more than 20″ ahead of theAlpine A480 n°36 by Matthieu Vaxivière. Franck Mailleux's Glickenhaus 007 n°709 returns to theAlpine, now with a 1″ gap in the fight for second place.

The No. 8 Toyota, already largely slowed down in its progress, encountered technical problems again during this hour, and was forced to return to its pit at slow speed. A fuel pump problem seems to be the cause of the loss of time for GR010 n°8, which has since returned to the track.

United Autosports dominates LM P2, with the No. 07 Oreca 22 of Filipe Albuquerque, which has a 10″ margin over Paul-Loup Chatin (No. 07 Oreca 29 – Racing Team Nederland) while the No. 38 Oreca – Jota d' Antonio Felix da Costa completes the top three.

In GTE Pro, the Ferrari 488 n°51 – AF Corse of James Calado took control after the restart following the entry into action of the safety car. The Briton had the better of the two Porsche 911 No. 91 and No. 92, Neel Jani losing two places to James Calado and Richard Lietz.

But at the last stop, Porsche Motorsport was able to make the right stop to put Neel Jani back at the head of the category ahead of the #51 Ferrari.

The No. 488 Ferrari 83 – AF Corse of Alessio Rovera remains dominant in GTE Am.
