Toyota took control of the Prologue during the afternoon session. The four LMP1-Hs are grouped together in less than a second.

Toyota takes control at Monza Prologue

Toyota a pris la tête du classement au Prologue du WEC in Monza. Mike conway completed a lap of the Milan circuit in 1'31''332 at the wheel of the No. 050 TS7 Hybrid, ahead of the No. 7 sister car by 8 tenths. Kazuki Nakajima. Porsche suit de près avec ses deux 919 Hybrid emmenées par Neel Jani et Brendon Hartley less than a second, even if it was No. 2 who was the most effective in this session. The ByKolles Racing CLM01 has still not taken to the track.

The times did not improve at the top of the LMP2, the Vaillante Rebellion retaining the best provisional time with the No. 07 Oreca 31 of Bruno Senna and the No. 13 of Mathias Beche. Gustavo Menezes was the fastest of the afternoon on theAlpine A470 n°36 even if it only set the 5th fastest time in testing, almost a second behind the benchmark. Vitaly Petrov followed less than a tenth behind the #24 CEFC Manor TRS Racing, with Alex Brundle completing the class leading trio in the #37 Jackie Chan DC Racing.

Porsche remains in the lead in the GTE

The Porsche 911 RSRs remain the fastest in GTE for the moment. Kévin Estre was the fastest this afternoon in the No. 92, clocking in at 4 tenths of the time achieved this morning by his teammate Michael Christensen. The Frenchman was a tenth ahead of the No. 66 Ford GT driven by Olivier Pla, with Richard Lietz completing the top three in the session in the No. 91 Porsche. Benjamin Baker improved his benchmark time in GTE Am with a lap completed in 1:50 in the #035 Gulf Racing UK 911 RSR.

The WEC Prologue will resume from 19 p.m. to 21 p.m. for a night session.
