Toyota wins the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans, Aston Martin beats Ferrari in GTE Pro

Clearly, the Le Mans fate still prefers No. 7 to No. 8. THE Toyota Gazoo Racing experienced this during these 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020, where Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima et Brendon Hartley (n°8) beat the sister car, that of Mike conway-José Maria Lopez-Kamui Kobayashi.

The Rebellion experienced some scares during the morning but consoled themselves with second place in n°1, that of Norman Nato, Bruno Senna and Gustavo Menezes. The famous Toyota No. 7, cursed, completes the podium overall.

We thought we were failing in the United Autosports clan when the Jota team attempted a strategic move by reaching the finish line without going to the refueling box. Finally, Anthony Davidson went into the pits less than 5' from time, causing a sigh of relief from the English team.

This is the first time that United Autosports has won at Le Mans, a result achieved thanks in particular to the switch from Ligier to Oreca for the chassis. The former pilot of Formula 1 Paul di Resta lifts the winner's trophy alongside Phil Hanson and Felipe Albuquerque.

On the GTE Pro side, the duel between Aston Martin et Ferrari turned to the advantage of the British. The turbo Vantage finally achieves its success in Sarthe, three years after the triumph of the old naturally aspirated Vantage.

The class remained calmer than in previous years. Alex Lynn, Maxime Martin and Harry Tincknell won with the No. 97 ahead of the title holders at Le Mans, Pier Guidi-Calado-Serra (Ferrari).

Finally, Aston Martin doubles the stakes in the category reserved for gentlemen drivers, GTE Am, thanks to the TF Sport team (Yoluc-Eastwood-Adam). Salih Yoluc is the first Turk to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
