Tréluyer: “I’m going to play the jack-of-all-trades”

Benoît Tréluyer spoke about his sporting plans for the near future, now that the three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is released from his commitment in WEC with the withdrawal of Audi.

As we mention in issue 2099 of AUTOhebdo, the Alençonnais would like to move towards GT, especially since he is in contact with the WRT Team with which he participated in the Andros Trophy on an Audi A1 Quattro, and is also interested in Rallycross while the manufacturer at Les Anneaux has officially committed to EKS.

“I want to continue racing on the circuit and would like to share my experience with a crew, commented the 2012 world champion. I also want to show that I can do much better than at the 24 hours of Spa in 2014 where I was not happy with my performance. »

“I can be among the best in GT, like I was in Japan. I would also like to try Rallycross but it is not easy because the discipline is becoming very expensive and I have no experience. But it’s something that’s close to my heart, and I’m not going to let go.”, he added.

Benoît Tréluyer does not intend to abandon theEndurance and recognizes that he would still like to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans even if he will no longer be able to challenge for victory in the general classification.

“There is the 24 Hours of Le Mans which I will undoubtedly attend, as a spectator or as a driver, I still don’t know. I ride with my heart. If a great opportunity comes along with an interesting challenge, I might be tempted. On the other hand, if nothing comes up, I won't insist. In fact, this season, I'm going to be a jack of all trades. I have work with Audi, but I’m going to try to do lots of other things.”, underlined the 40-year-old Frenchman.
