Tréluyer is doing well

It was a little after four in the morning when the Peugeot 908 HDi entered by the Pescarolo Sport team was the victim of a very serious off-track exit on the descent towards La Chapelle, just before the Tertre Rouge esses. At the wheel, Benoit Tréluyer was stunned and quickly taken to hospital where he emerged two hours later, unharmed.

« The team called me back to the pits for a scheduled refueling. She took the opportunity to clean the pontoons because I had been forced to put two wheels in the grass to avoid a Ferrari GT2 He explained. " While carrying out this operation, the engineers noticed that the front blade was slightly damaged and they decided to change it. I knew that the behavior of the car would be affected and, when I returned to the track, I was very careful. The balance of the car was good, a little oversteer but not much. I then resumed a normal pace when approaching the La Forêt esses, the car unloaded and suddenly stalled, becoming square. I wasn?t lucky enough to be slowed down by the gravel trap because it flew away immediately?, He said.

A native of Alençon, Tréluyer was very disappointed when he returned from the hospital. “ I don't know what happened », he murmured. “ Perhaps I should have waited one more lap but the behavior of the car did not suggest anything to worry about. We had a great card to play,” repeats Benoît one last time with misty eyes. “Our pace was lower than that of the official Peugeots. We were more in for a waiting race? »

Henri Pescarolo was also dejected by this exit from the road. “Until 4:03 a.m. Sunday morning, the team eagerly followed the progress of its cars. The 908 HDi was then in a solid fourth place, with a podium in sight. Jean-Christophe Boullion who took the start, simon pagenaud and Benoît Tréluyer who took turns, showed themselves at the level of the official team. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night, Benoît suddenly left the track and violently hit the rails at Tertre Rouge, for a reason still unknown. The shock was very violent, but Benoît fortunately escaped unscathed. Once reassured about her fate, it was a huge disappointment for the whole team? ", he said.

However, Benoit will not have time to think about it for long. In fact, from Sunday, he will be at the start of the 3rd round of the Japanese Super GT championship in Sepang, Malaysia. An opportunity to forget this disappointment.
